Awhile back, I lent one of my ๐ง๐ข๐ท๐ฐ๐ถ๐ณ๐ช๐ต๐ฆ personal finance books โThe Millionaire Next Doorโ to my friend.
I had lent him tons of books before, and this time, when he gave it back to me, I noticed that the cover had meticulously been wrapped in white craft paper.
I asked him why he had done that.
This is how loaded a topic money can be.
This is how taboo the topic of money can be.
My friend didn’t want someone knowing he was ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ about money.
The taboo around money comes from the belief that money somehow ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฏ๐ด something about us, as human beings.
I reject that wholeheartedly.
Let’s dismantle this money taboo. Let’s ๐ต๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ about money.
Whatโs possible when we do is quashing the shame and judgment that surrounds money, and finally learning how to deal with it powerfully.
